Open Media Web Interviews Tantek Çelik
Tantek Çelik, of San Francisco, is a computer scientist of Turkish-American descent and was the Chief Technologist at Technorati and a long time advocate of open standards efforts like microformats, who recently made mandatory all contributions to the microformats wiki to be licensed under the public domain.
In the interview Tantek talks about openness, data portability, and Digg’s use of public domain.

Big disclaimer here: This interview was taken by Chris Messina for the promotion of Open Media Web.
I am all for sharing my own content (providing attribution and link back) but when you want to give everyone a shot at using your content "under public domain" you're basically giving your work out for free. There are people out there who build websites entirely out of other peoples work and make some change out of it as well. Case in point Popurls and TheWebList just to name a few off the top of my head.
Which reminds me I should adjust my feed content to only extract my (by-nc-sa) Creative Commons License work.
